Phantom Media Group Places Milk, Lola Post, Tippett Studio, PhantomFX, And Spectre Post Under One Umbrella
It appears a new global force in visual effects and animation has emerged with the launch of Phantom Media Group (PMG), a collective bringing together Milk, Lola Post, Tippett Studio, PhantomFX, and Spectre Post under one umbrella.
As first reported by Deadline, PMG is the result of India’s Phantom Digital Effects consolidating several well-known studios across the U.K., U.S., and Asia-Pacific. The company acquired Milk and Lola Post earlier this year, purchased Tippett Studio in 2024, and launched Spectre Post in Bengaluru, India.
Each studio will continue to operate independently while collaborating on major global productions. PMG leadership includes founder and CEO Bejoy Arputharaj, COO Binu Joshua, Executive Vice President Ian Unterreiner, and Chief Business Officer Rajan Ethiraja.
The group’s member studios bring notable credits: Milk has worked on Good Omens, Doctor Who, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald; Lola Post on Walking With Dinosaurs and Bad Sisters; and Tippett Studio — founded by Oscar-winning effects veteran Phil Tippett — on Jurassic Park, Starship Troopers, and The Walking Dead.
Tippett’s team has also, somewhat controversially, been integrating AI and machine learning tools into its animation and VFX pipelines.
Upcoming PMG projects include The Mandalorian and Grogu, Good Omens Season 3, The Witcher Season 4, Ironheart, and Alien: Romulus.
The formation of PMG comes at a time of widespread change in post-production, as studios seek stability through shared resources, technology, and global collaboration in a volatile market.
