Netflix used its Thursday afternoon Anime NYC presentation to share updates and early looks at its packed slate of upcoming anime titles, including release-date announcements for Blue Eye Samurai and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, new artwork from The One Piece, and trailers for several upcoming anime and adult animated series.

Here are Netflix’s biggest announcements from the showcase:

Blue Eye Samurai

Netflix’s Emmy-winning drama will return for its second season in January 2027. The newly released teaser follows Mizu to London, where her bloody search for the two remaining men who might be her father brings new allies, old enemies, and more personal demons.

Meanwhile, Akemi and Taigen must navigate Edo Castle under a dangerous new shogun, while Ringo searches for a new purpose. Created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green and animated by French studio Blue Spirit, the series will conclude with a third season in 2028.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will debut on October 20 with a new cast, a new group of mercenaries, and a reimagined animation style. A fresh teaser released this week introduces a standalone, 10-episode story about redemption and revenge in the violent world of Night City.

The series reunites Netflix with game developer CD Projekt Red and Japanese animation studio Trigger, which produced the acclaimed first installment. Kai Ikarashi is directing after working as a character designer and animation director on the original.

The One Piece

Play

Netflix revealed new key art for The One Piece, Wit Studio’s highly anticipated CG adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s enormously successful manga. The series will premiere in February 2027 and retell the East Blue saga using contemporary production techniques and updated visuals.

The first season will adapt the manga’s first 50 chapters across seven episodes, with a combined runtime of about 300 minutes. Wit Studio is producing the series in collaboration with Shueisha, Fuji Television, and Toei Animation, which has produced the long-running One Piece anime since 1999.

Bass X Machina

Play

A new teaser offers the closest look yet at Bass X Machina, an adult animated steampunk Western created by LeSean Thomas (Cannon Busters, Yasuke) and starring Brian Tyree Henry. The series follows a father forced to become judge, jury, and executioner in a lawless frontier overrun by outlaws, machines, and supernatural threats.

South Korea’s Studio Mir (X-Men ’97, Devil May Cry) is handling the animation. The series will premiere November 3.

Fool Night

Play

Netflix debuted a second teaser and a behind-the-scenes featurette for Fool Night, the first joint production from Japanese studios Sunrise and Shaft. Based on Kasumi Yasuda’s manga, the dystopian series takes place in a world where humans nearing death can be transformed into plants to help address a catastrophic oxygen shortage.

Atsushi Yukawa is directing, with Jin Tanaka overseeing series composition. Adam McArthur and Olivia Liang have joined the English-language voice cast. All episodes will hit the platform on November 26.

LEGO One Piece

Play

The first trailer for the two-part LEGO One Piece animated special previews a brick-built retelling of the first two seasons of Netflix’s live-action series. That’s right, this is essentially an animated adaptation of a live-action adaptation of an anime adaptation of a manga.

Each 30-minute episode will feature Usopp recounting the Straw Hats’ adventures to Tony Tony Chopper. The live-action cast will reprise their roles, with Atomic Cartoons producing in partnership with the LEGO Group, Shueisha, and Tomorrow Studios. Both episodes premiere September 29.

Sakamoto Days Season 2

Play

A new character trailer for Sakamoto Days season two introduces three figures from the title character’s past: his former teacher Etsuko Satoda, conflicted student Amane Yotsumura, and Amane’s elusive father, Satoru Yotsumura.

The anime, adapted from Yuto Suzuki’s manga and produced by TMS Entertainment, returns in January 2027.
