Netflix has confirmed that the next chapter of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Steel Ball Run, will hit the platform soon.

Based on Hirohiko Araki’s beloved manga, Steel Ball Run is set in the late 19th century and follows Johnny Joestar, a paraplegic former jockey, and the mysterious Gyro Zeppeli as they compete in the first cross-continental horse race across North America.

The adaptation reunites David Production’s veteran JoJo team, led by directors Yasuhiro Kimura (Golden Wind) and Hideya Takahashi, with Toshiyuki Kato (Stone Ocean) as series director. Franchise regular Yasuko Kobayashi handles series composition, alongside Daisuke Tsumagari on character design, Yugo Kanno on music, and Yoshikazu Iwanami on sound direction.

In Netflix’s press notes, director Kimura described the series as “a story that depicts characters racing through a grand competition, each staking their own beliefs along the way,” adding that the staff is “pouring their passion into production every day.”

Warner Bros. Japan has revealed that a special fan event will take place in Tokyo on September 23, with a global livestream offering new updates ahead of release.

With over 120 million manga copies in circulation and a growing legacy of anime hits, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure remains one of the most enduring franchises in Japanese pop culture. Steel Ball Run marks the latest chapter to join Netflix’s anime lineup.
