Oscar roundtable Oscar roundtable

Who should win the Oscars for best animated feature and animated short? Who will win?

There are no easy answers when the nominated films are as strong and worthwhile as this year’s field. To try and make some sense of these categories, which are often not considered with the care and thought they deserve, we’ve brought together a panel of animation critics to discuss this year’s Oscar nominees. Our conversation ran for 50 minutes and, in many ways, it feels like we barely scratched the surface of this commendable group of films.

The roundtable is comprised of Cartoon Brew podcast producer and INBTWN Animation host Cole Delaney, film writers and critics Courtney Howard and Carlos Aguilar, and Cartoon Brew’s editor-in-chief Amid Amidi.
