Kartoon Studios Wants To Get Kids Into Crypto With Its New ‘Fully Produced In AI’ Series ‘Bitcoin Brigade’
Kartoon Studios has unveiled Bitcoin Brigade: Adventures in Satoshi City, a new kids’ series it says is produced “fully in AI” that will combine entertainment, education, and blockchain innovation. The series, set to debut in fall 2026 on Kartoon Channel!, is the cornerstone of a broader multi-platform ecosystem that integrates games, rewards, consumer products, and a Bitcoin treasury strategy.
Developed in partnership with Swiss Bitcoin mining firm Bitkern AG, the project is one that Kartoon says will introduce young audiences to Bitcoin and decentralized finance through storytelling and interactive play. Kartoon says the show features an “anime style” and original K-pop music, making sure to hit as many buzzwords as possible in its press materials.
“Bitcoin Brigade blends thrilling adventure with important lessons about money, technology, and digital responsibility,” said Andy Heyward, chairman and CEO of Kartoon Studios, boldly claiming that, “Just as Mario and Sonic helped launch the gaming era, we believe this property will inspire the next generation in blockchain-powered entertainment and education.”
The series is also tied to the Satoshi Sparks Rewards System, allowing kids to earn Sparks by engaging with episodes, quizzes, and cryptographic challenges. Sparks can be redeemed in a Bitcoin-only marketplace for exclusive merchandise and digital collectibles. A companion app will feature kid-friendly Lightning wallets with parental controls, teaching practical lessons in Bitcoin custody and security.
Kartoon Studios will also launch a global licensing program for toys, apparel, and interactive products embedded with Lightning-enabled NFC chips.
Jamie’s Take: Maybe I’m being overly skeptical, but everything about the show strikes me as offensive. Animation can be a tremendous educational tool, but I’m suspicious about the real motivations here. It feels like when I was a kid, and a cartoon camel was used to sell cigarettes. Also, “fully produced in AI” hardly strikes me as a positive selling point.
