Already an unprecedented presales hit for Fathom Entertainment, The Amazing Digital Circus continues to show previously unheard of theatrical strength ahead of its upcoming release, with Glitch Productions announcing today that the show’s finale, The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act, has surpassed $7.5 million in U.S. presales, and will get a much wider rollout than originally planned. More than double the theaters, in fact.

According to the companies, the finale has dramatically outperformed in recent weeks, growing from an initial launch of approximately 900 theaters to more than 2,000 locations across the U.S. alone. Fathom, best known for one-off event screenings but increasingly presenting itself as a true distribution disruptor, is handling the film’s domestic theatrical rollout, which runs June 4-18 (at least).

The extended-length finale will combine the recently released episode eight with a new hour-long ninth episode intended to conclude the viral web series created by Gooseworx.

Glitch Productions CEO Kevin Lerdwichagul said in today’s release:

Glitch Productions is so proud of the worldwide demand from fans and theatre operators alike for the finale to The Amazing Digital Circus. Glitch is so pleased with the incredible success we have achieved to date with Fathom, our U.S. theatrical partner, and is focused on making this event the ultimate fan experience. Glitch is continuing to work through the incredible demand for markets outside of the U.S. and make the phenomenon possible for our beloved fans everywhere.

Fathom CEO Ray Nutt added:

The presales for The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act have easily established new record benchmarks at Fathom Entertainment and keep growing with our U.S. theatrical footprint, now having passed the 2,000-theater benchmark. Even better, Fathom is thrilled to provide participating theatre operators nationwide with great-looking limited edition concession vessels for food and drink that are exclusive to the theatrical engagement and are sure to be a major hit with fans in celebration of The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act.

Alongside the updated sales figures, Glitch and Fathom also unveiled limited-edition concession merchandise tied to the release, including a collectible popcorn bucket and a beverage cup, seen below.

Since debuting on YouTube in 2023, The Amazing Digital Circus has become one of the most commercially successful independent animated series ever produced for web-based distribution. Glitch says the property has generated more than 1 billion online views, while Netflix previously reported that the show ranked among its five most-viewed series globally during the first two weeks of October 2024, despite being available for free on YouTube.
