Pete Docter, the Academy Award-winning director behind Pixar’s Up, Monster’s, Inc. and the upcoming film Inside Out, will appear at an event next week at Toronto’s TIFF Bell Lightbox.

In an onstage conversation with movie critic Richard Crouse, Docter will discuss his career in animation and screenwriting, including the upcoming film, since studying character animation at the California Institute of the Arts.

As well as directing Up, Monsters, Inc. and Inside Out, Docter was supervising animator on Pixar’s Toy Story, storyboarded on A Bug’s Life, and wrote initial story treatments for both Toy Story 2 and WALL-E.

Following the conversation, Docter and producer Jonas Rivera will introduce a screening of Up. Tickets to the talk and screening are separate.

In Conversation with… Pete Docter will take place on Monday, March 23, at 7pm at TIFF Bell Lightbox. For ticketing information, visit the TIFF website.
