Dealies Dealies

Netflix has ordered Dealies, a new adult animated comedy series from creators Joe Bennett and Ted Travelstead, further cementing Green Street Pictures as one of the fastest-rising players in television animation following the tremendous success of Common Side Effects and cult popularity of Scavengers Reign.

Green Street also posted the show’s surreal opening title sequence to YouTube.

The new show is set inside Dealies, a big box retail store staffed by employees whose talents seem wildly out of proportion to their day jobs. Netflix’s official logline reads:

A savant salesman. A gentle gladiator. A quiet virtuoso. A summoner of the divine. And the poor soul who hired them. All part of the staff at Dealies, a big box store. They are masters of the delicate alchemy of trade. Prophets of enterprise. And occasionally they do some actual work.

Bennett and Travelstead will serve as showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Lisa Mierke, Alex Plapinger, and Green Street Pictures partners James Merrill, Sean Buckelew, and Benjy Brooke.

For Green Street, Dealies marks another major studio series pickup during an exceptional run for the company. The studio broke through with Adult Swim’s acclaimed Scavengers Reign – later picked up by Netflix, then followed that with Common Side Effects. Now, with Dealies landing at Netflix, Green Street has assembled an enviable streak of high-profile projects for major buyers in just a few years.

While Netflix has not announced a release date or cast, the project adds another distinctive workplace comedy to the streamer’s growing slate of adult animation, with a premise poised to blend deadpan retail satire with the surreal sensibility that has become a hallmark of Bennett’s recent work.
