Animation Coming To Disney+, Netflix, Max, Hulu, And More In October 2023

October’s animation streaming calendar is an eclectic mix offering exciting new titles and enjoyable library animation.

Disney+ is teaming with the NFL for a special real-time, fully animated presentation of the Falcons versus Jaguars game on October 1. The platform will also release Once Upon a Studio, a short film made to celebrate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary.

Netflix is debuting its latest video game adaptation, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, which had a work-in-progress presentation at Annecy over the summer. The seventh and penultimate season of Big Mouth also comes out in October.

Max has an impressive lineup for October that includes the sci-fi adult series Scavengers Reign, the premiere of the preschool Craig of the Creek spinoff Jessica’s Big Little World, and the prestige short Peter and the Wolf, featuring music and narration by Gavin Friday, and artwork based on original illustrations by Bono. Also of note, the spooky Mexican stop-motion series Frankelda’s Book Of Spooks will finally debut in the United States two years after debuting in Latin America.

Hulu will offer Fox’s long-running Sunday night animated series – The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers – after their new season debuts on linear tv. The platform is also adding season two of Spy x Family and debuting a new original Dreamworks series, Fright Krewe.

Peacock will also debut Fright Krewe next month before later adding LEGO: Jurassic Park: The Unofficial Retelling and Dreamworks’ Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.
