‘Decorado’ Drops English Dub Trailer Ahead Of May 15 Theatrical Release
GKIDS has released the English-language dub trailer for Alberto Vázquez’s Decorado, ahead of the film’s North American theatrical run beginning May 15. The distributor will host screenings of the film in both its original Spanish with subtitles and the new English dub, with tickets now on sale.
The release lands at a high point for the film, which was just selected for the main feature competition at this year’s Annecy. Decorado won the Spanish Academy Goya Award for best animated feature earlier this year and the Quirino Award for best Ibero-American feature earlier this month, building on a festival run that kicked off with last September’s world premiere at Fantastic Fest.
Adapted from Vázquez’s Goya-winning 2016 short of the same name, the feature follows Arnold, a disillusioned middle-aged mouse who becomes convinced that his entire world is a lie and his life a scripted performance. It’s got a bit of The Truman Show to it, but much, much darker.
After his best friend Ramiro dies under suspicious circumstances, Arnold begins tracing a conspiracy back to a monolithic mega-corporation whose reach quietly shapes everything around him.
The English dub features David Goldstein, Marissa Parness, Brian Maillard, Brian Villalobos, and Rene Mujica.
