Australia’s The Amazing Digital Circus, Murder Drones, and Knights of Guinevere studio, Glitch Productions, has greenlit a full season of Gameoverse, the animated action-comedy created by Ross O’Donovan (known online as RubberRoss). The announcement follows the release of the show’s pilot in May, which the studio says has attracted more than 31 million views.
The show’s second episode will premiere May 21, 2027.
Set in a digital universe where each planet functions as a separate video game, Gameoverse follows Kit and Team Nimble as they try to prevent those worlds from being destroyed. The catch: when a hero meets a game’s win condition, the planet is obliterated, releasing an energy source called Float. Saving the world means keeping its villain undefeated.
That puts the team in conflict with Syntax, which manipulates heroes into winning games to harvest the resulting energy.
“I’m happy to share with you all that more Gameoverse is coming!” O’Donovan said. “I’m excited for you all to see what me and my extraordinary team have been cooking. Thank you for your continued support!”
Glitch co-founder Luke Lerdwichagul added:
With the greenlight of Gameoverse – we’re incredibly excited to bring Ross’s world to life who’s been crafting the show with more than a decade of meticulous dedication. The characters, worlds and stories he has created are wonderfully distinctive and diverse, making this a fantastic addition to Glitch’s lineup of shows.
We understand that this project is more than just a story for Ross. A deeply personal work that has been years in the making. We’re committed to honoring that vision and bringing it to the screen with the care it deserves.
The pilot’s voice cast includes Erica Lindbeck as Kit, alongside Chris Sabat, Elsie Lovelock, Michael Cusack, Arin Hanson, JSchlatt, and O’Donovan. Video game composers Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie) and Jake Kaufman (Shantae) contribute music.
