Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 will make its streaming debut exclusively on Disney+ on September 23, three months after launching its franchise-record-breaking run in theaters.
Directed by Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris, the fifth installment has grossed more than $1.13 billion worldwide since its June release. Stanton and Harris also wrote the screenplay, from a story by Stanton.
Disney’s official synopsis for the film reads:
The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, and this time it’s Toy meets Tech. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad, a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same?
The film’s soundtrack, which also features Randy Newman’s original score, is now available to pre-order on vinyl and CD ahead of its September 25 release.
