Annecy saved plenty for its final stretch. The festival closed by crowning this year’s winners, with The Violinist taking the Cristal for best feature while Iron Boy and Paper Trail also left with major honors. We broke down the complete list of winners, the special prize recipients, and what the results say about the films that resonated most with Annecy’s juries and crowds.

As the week drew to its end, Pixar pulled back the curtain on Gatto, while Disney Animation shared new details about Hexed. Each also unveiled new shorts based on some of their most popular IPs. Duncan Jones and Stuart Fenegan discussed bringing Rogue Trooper to the screen, Tollywood icon S.S. Rajamouli unveiled the animated epic Baahubali: The Eternal War, and Adult Swim previewed what’s next for Genndy Tartakovsky and its expanding adult animation slate. We also caught up with the team behind Common Side Effects for an early look at season two.

At Mifa, the conversation turned toward the future. We spotlighted this year’s feature pitches, reported on Bilibili’s growing ambitions in Europe through its new partnership with ADN, and covered a showcase featuring Palestinian animation projects seeking to connect with international partners. To wrap up the week, we also handed out our annual studio report card, grading the companies that made the biggest impression across Annecy’s screenings, presentations, and market activities.
