Coyote vs. Acme continues to make Warner Bros.’ decision to bury the film look worse by the week. Dave Green’s live-action/animation hybrid has now passed $82 million worldwide and remains in the domestic and global top five. Speaking of theatrical distribution, Paramount and Netflix are ending their Skydance Animation distribution deal after Ray Gunn and Rich Moore’s untitled Jack and the Beanstalk project, with future Skydance films set to receive theatrical releases.

We’re in Toulouse this week for Cartoon Forum, where we picked ten of the projects we’re most eager to learn more about. We also debuted the first trailers for two of the market’s buzzy pitches: La Cabane and Thuristar’s hand-drawn comedy-adventure Emma Makes Waves and Hampa Studio’s anime-influenced adaptation of Panini’s Fantasy Riders.

Also this week, we spoke with animator Simón Bucher about creating the wonderfully strange stop-motion sequence in Chilean box office hit Denominación de Origen. In industry news, French producer-distributor Dandelooo launched a new teen and young adult unit, while Blizzard and Netflix confirmed that they are developing an animated series set in the dark-fantasy world of Diablo.
