Christina Miller Named Cartoon Network, Adult Swim President

Cartoon Network has named Christina Miller as its new president and general manager. She will also serve the same roles for Adult Swim and Boomerang. Miller fills the leadership vacancy left by Stu Snyder, who departed the network in March.

Takeshi Murata in St. Louis and New York

As one of the few animators to successfully cross over into the lucrative world of fine art, Takeshi Murata (b. 1974) has produced a wide range of video works that range from hand-drawn, computer-assisted animation to randomly distorted clips from films and TV shows a la glitch art, such as "Untitled (Pink Dot)" (2007), drawn from "Rambo," or "Timewarp Experiment" (2007) from "Three’s Company."

Studio MDHR has delayed their Fleischer-esque videogame Cuphead until 2015, but they just released a new trailer for the gaming show E3 with new footage that is even more impressive (and more Fleischer-y) than the earlier preview.

As long as I've loved animation, I've been fascinated with the personal stories of people who work in the animation business. Not simply, "What character did you make?," but WHY and HOW did you make it? I became actively involved in documenting those stories when I published the print 'zine "Animation Blast," and it's something I've never stopped doing. For me, it wasn't just about talking to a handful of familiar directors and animators, but to talk with everyone, especially those who had worked quietly in the trenches and whose stories hadn't yet been told.

McDonald’s Introduces New Mascot Called Happy [UPDATED]

If Ronald McDonald wasn't disturbing enough, McDonald's has unveiled a creepy-looking animated mascot in the United States called Happy. The Happy Meal box-shaped creature has rubber-hose arms, a huge set of realistic chompers, bulging eyballs, and the McDonald's arches as eyebrows.

Watch 2 New CN Pilots By ‘Regular Show’ Staffers

Tonight, Cartoon Network quietly released two new pilots that were produced in 2013: "AJ's Infinite Summer" created by Toby Jones and "Long Live the Royals" by Sean Szeles. Both Jones and Szeles work on "Regular Show"—Jones as a writer/storyboard artist and Szeles as a supervising director/writer/storyboard artist.
